The Cooperation Agreement on Development Partnership between Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and LLC AgroEnergoPlus / Dnipro was concluded. In the frame of this contract the Green Economy Programme and LLC AgroEnergoPlus work hand in hand to provide new opportunities to stimulate implementing ecology and energy efficient methods for remediation of polluted soils based on energy crops and producing of biomass for local energy production. Both, the public and the private partner as well as LLC “InEcoTech of Ukraine” are already for a while in contact to create this common project as a result of a contest of ideas, organised by the Green Economy Programme at the end of 2016 with the support of the Dnipropetrovsk Chamber of Commerce and Trade. The aim of this cooperation is raising awareness of the municipal authorities, state enterprises, small and medium sized companies as well as non-government organisations in Dnipropetrovsk region about the possibility, advantages and financing options for ecology- and energy efficient technologies of remediation of polluted soils. A demonstration model includes 12 hectares of the “bad” land with seeds for energy crops, a line for pellets production and a biomass boiler. 15 seminars will be attended by 200 participants. An educational video will show the process of growing and local using of energy crops. The common project shows, that Economy and Ecology shouldn´t exist as antagonism. Quite the reverse using green technologies open possibilities for new business and give the chance for sustainable combinations of Economy, Ecology and Efficiency at each level and for each budget.
